LAUNCH READINESS / ADEPTA NOTE 06
What must work before the first advertising dollar is spent
A campaign cannot compensate for an unclear offer, a dead form or a lead nobody answers. Use a preflight check before paying for the lesson. 12 min read
Launch only when a real person can travel from promise to response — and the team can see where that journey stops.
A stranger must understand the offer in five seconds
The first screen should answer who this is for, what changes and what the visitor should do next. Internal category language and a long service list force the audience to translate the offer themselves. Advertising makes that confusion expensive because every unclear visit has already been paid for.
Walk the entire conversion path on a phone
Open the real ad destination on a slow connection. Read the promise, use the menu, submit the form, complete payment if relevant and verify the confirmation. Check field errors, keyboard behavior, consent, loading states and what happens after success. A desktop preview does not reveal the path most paid users will experience.
- Every button reaches the promised section
- Errors explain exactly how to recover
- Success confirms what happens next
Make the important event visible end to end
Test the page view, call-to-action click, form start, validation error, successful lead and downstream qualification. Preserve campaign parameters and click identifiers with the lead. The team should be able to trace one test user from the ad through delivery without opening five unrelated reports.
Prepare a creative portfolio, not one precious ad
The first batch needs different reasons to care, not just different colors. Include message, proof and format variations with correct aspect ratios, readable subtitles and a consistent destination. Name them so performance can return to the creative hypothesis instead of disappearing into a folder of finals.
Set money and safety rules before launch
Document budgets, bidding intent, allowed geographies, stop conditions, account access and who may approve a change. Decide how much evidence is enough for a decision and what anomaly triggers an alert. These rules prevent the first emotional day of data from rewriting the strategy.
Test the human response as part of the product
Submit a real test lead and watch who receives it, how quickly they respond, what context arrives and what status comes back. A qualified visitor who waits two days is not a media problem. Define the response promise, backup channel and owner before the campaign makes silence visible at scale.
